Goodbye Mint and Saffron
We said goodbye to the last two puppies from the Herb Litter today — sweet Mint and Saffron. Their new names are Marley and Maisy. These two are off on a road trip adventure to Scottsdale, Arizona, where we know they’ll bring so much joy to their new family. It’s always bittersweet when the puppy pen gets quiet, but our hearts are full knowing they’re each where they’re meant to be. We’ll miss having puppies underfoot for a little while, but it won’t be long — we’re expecting

The Importance of Starting Puppy Training the Moment You Get Home
Bringing home a new puppy is one of life’s greatest joys—but it’s also the start of your puppy’s lifelong education. From the second your puppy joins your family, it’s learning. Every action, every interaction, every routine teaches your puppy something—good or bad. Even when you’re not intentionally training, your puppy is still learning from you. So it’s up to you to decide what it learns. 💡 Every Moment Counts That adorable thing your puppy does today might not be so ado

Goose’s Big Adventure
Last night, I flew Goose to Fort Myers, Florida, to meet his new family — and I couldn’t be happier with how everything went. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure I was even going to make that flight with him being 23 pounds and such a big boy for a carry-on, but somehow everything worked out. They let us on, and Goose was an absolute angel the entire time. He didn’t make a peep — just curled up in his carrier and slept peacefully the whole flight. I’m so thankful it all worked out,

Weekly Nursing Home Visit – Mint & Saffron’s Final Visit
Today was a bittersweet day. Mint and Saffron had their final visit to the nursing home before heading off to their forever homes this week. We’re going to miss these visits until the next litter of puppies is old enough to go, but what a joyful morning it was! The residents were all smiles as they got to snuggle, pet, and love on the puppies one last time. These visits are such a special part of our socialization program. It’s not just about the puppies learning to be calm a

A Day of Bittersweet Goodbyes
Today we said goodbye to four of our sweet Herb Litter puppies as they headed off to their forever homes. Each one has been such a joy to raise, and though it’s always bittersweet to see them go, we couldn’t be happier for the wonderful families welcoming them home. 💜 Lavender is now Xochi (pronounced So-chee), and she’s headed to Goshen, Arkansas! 💚 Dill is now Maverick, and he’s on his way to Moberly, Missouri. 💙 Comfrey is now Teddy, and he’s off to Pl

Goose's Vet Check up
Goose had his second vet checkup today, and everything went great. The vet said he was absolutely perfect and healthy in every way. He also got his second round of vaccinations and didn’t even flinch. The staff loved on him, and Goose soaked it up, wagging his tail and leaning in for attention. They’re big Golden Retriever fans there, and he was happy to be the center of it for a few minutes. Goose is growing into such a gentle, easygoing pup, and it’s fun to see how much he

SDG Training Update: Goose – Building Confidence with Multiple Handlers
Today was a special day for Goose’s training! We had some family over, which gave us the perfect opportunity to introduce him to working with different people. This type of session is incredibly valuable because it helps Goose learn that commands don’t just come from one familiar voice — they can come from anyone he’s interacting with. By allowing others to participate in his training, Goose is learning generalization, an essential part of a well-rounded obedience foundation.

SDG Training Update: Goose – Learning Kennel Manners
Goose is staying with us for training right now, and at just 10½ weeks old, he’s already impressing us with how quickly he catches on! This week, we’ve been focusing on kennel manners—a big milestone in every puppy’s journey toward becoming a calm, confident companion. Right now, Goose is learning the word “kennel” and understanding what it means to go in willingly and wait patiently until released. We’re reinforcing that the kennel is not just a place to sleep—it’s his safe,
