Last night, I flew Goose to Fort Myers, Florida, to meet his new family — and I couldn’t be happier with how everything went. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure I was even going to make that flight with him being 23 pounds and such a big boy for a carry-on, but somehow everything worked out. Goose had his second vet checkup today, and everything went great. The vet said he was absolutely perfect and healthy in every way. He also got his second round of vaccinations and didn’t even flinch. The staff loved on him, and Goose soaked it up, wagging his tail and leaning in for attention. Today was a special day for Goose’s training! We had some family over, which gave us the perfect opportunity to introduce him to working with different people. This type of session is incredibly valuable because it helps Goose learn that commands don’t just come from one familiar voice — they can come from anyone he’s interacting with. By allowing others to participate in his training, Goose is learning generalization, an essential part of a well-rounded obedience foundation.
