Inside the Puppy Pen: Day 20 – Finding Their Voices

The puppies have reached an exciting milestone—they found their voices! Most of the day the pen is calm and filled with soft puppy snores, but every so often, the whole group bursts into a chorus of little barks and howls.

This video was taken right after Momma fed them and stepped out. Judging by the way they piped up together, it sure seemed like they were telling her they weren’t quite finished yet.

At this age, puppies are learning how to communicate. Their playful barks and howls aren’t just cute—they’re an important step in social development. They’re beginning to experiment with sound, practice calling out for attention, and even test how their littermates respond. Before long, each puppy’s voice will carry its own personality, giving us little glimpses of who they are becoming.

It’s one of those magical moments where you realize they’re not just newborns anymore—they’re on their way to becoming confident, social companions.
