Today we transitioned the puppies from their whelping pen to their weaning pen, giving them more space to explore, play, and build confidence. Expanding their environment at this stage is an important part of their development—it helps them practice navigating new spaces, encounter new textures, and learn independence.
We added more enrichment, including extra toys for stimulation, a large dog bed for group naps, and their individual kennels with soft beds inside. After a good round of play, every puppy chose a kennel to settle in and nap, showing us they’re already forming positive associations with their own cozy spaces.
Fun Fact: Early kennel exposure like this lays the foundation for smoother crate training, less separation anxiety, and better adaptability when they head to their forever homes.
