Our little ones still have their eyes and ears closed, but that doesn’t slow them down when it’s time to find mom! From the moment she steps into the pen, their tiny noses start working overtime. They can smell her before they ever touch her, and you’ll see them wiggling and scooting their way toward her with impressive determination.
They don’t just rely on scent, either — puppies are born with a natural instinct to seek warmth. Mom’s body heat helps guide them in, so in a way, you could say they have “built-in heat sensors.” Between her comforting warmth and familiar scent, they always manage to find their way to the perfect spot for a meal and snuggles.
It’s amazing to watch how much they can do, even before they can see or hear the world around them.
