🐶 3-Week Puppy Milestones – Growing Fast! 🐾 (January 2025 litters)

Our Dolly & Reba litters are now 3 weeks old, and they are growing and changing every single day!

Their personalities are starting to emerge, and they’re becoming more curious, playful, and interactive. Here’s what’s new this week:

🌟 3-Week Puppy Milestones:

👀 Eyes Wide Open! – All the puppies now have their eyes fully open, and they are starting to recognize movement around them. Their vision is still developing, but they are becoming more aware of their littermates, their mom, and us!

👂 Ears Open & Listening! – Their ears have opened, and they are beginning to respond to sounds. We’ve noticed them reacting to voices, little noises, and even the sound of mom walking into the whelping area. It’s amazing to see them become more connected to the world around them!

🐾 Walking with More Confidence! – The wobbles are disappearing, and they’re getting steadier on their feet. Some are even trying to playfully pounce on their littermates!

🐶 Starting to Play! – They’re discovering their siblings in new ways—nosing, pawing, and even little play bows! Their first tiny tail wags are making an appearance too!

🦷 Teeny, Tiny Teeth Are Coming In! – We’re starting to feel those first little teeth breaking through their gums. This is a big milestone because it means they are getting ready for the next phase—eating solid food!

🥣 Mush is Coming Soon! – While they are still nursing full-time, their teeth mean that soon, we will start introducing puppy mush—a soft, easy-to-eat blend of high-quality puppy food mixed with warm water or milk replacer. Right now, they are still dependent on mom, but in the next week or so, they will get their first taste!

🗣 More Vocal & Expressive! – We’re hearing adorable little barks, whines, and playful growls as they interact with each other and their surroundings.

🔎 Exploring More! – They are becoming more curious about their surroundings, sniffing new textures and investigating everything in their little world.

🍼 Mom is Standing More While Nursing! – As they get bigger, Dolly & Reba are spending less time lying down to feed and more time standing, encouraging the pups to use their little legs to reach for milk.

🐾 What’s Next?

In the next week, these little ones will continue to gain coordination, play more actively, and become even more social. Their first taste of food is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to see how they react to their first messy mush meal!
