Five days old today, and these pups are already showing us just how strong tiny can be. In today’s video, you’ll see the calm rhythm of the pen—gentle nursing, little noses twitching, and bodies snuggled tight against each other and mama. My favorite part is the tiny squeaks. Raspberry was the most vocal this session. She kicked Orange off his teat, then decided she didn’t want that one. 😅
Right now, our focus is still on stability. This is the NICU phase for puppies—the stretch of time where they’re most vulnerable and require the most careful attention. We’re weighing them twice a day, tracking their growth closely, and offering gentle backstrokes and touches to begin building their early neurological foundations.
We haven’t started ENS and ESI quite yet. Since these pups arrived just a little early, we’re giving them a few extra days to settle in and strengthen first. But the good news? Every one of them has now reached what would have been a normal full-term birth weight. That alone feels like a little victory.
These little wiggle worms are growing fast and getting stronger by the day. Even at just five days old, they already know how to fight for what they want—whether it’s the warmest spot in the pile or the best place at the milk bar. I have a feeling this group is going to be full of determination and heart.
We’re so glad you’re here with us—watching, caring, and rooting for them. Come back tomorrow. There’s more to come, and you won’t want to miss it.
